New Pics

Here are some new pictures of Trae. I just weighed him today and he is now about 10.5 pounds and about 24 inches long. He sure is growing quick and as i look at christy, mike, and lauras i see it doesnt take long. Trae was baptized on August 26th at St. Pats church. His godparents are Roby and Chandra Johnson which is Trista's sister and her husband. Things are going well here, I am busy reffing high school and college football games and trista is busy teaching at the high school and working a couple nights at the comfort inn. She works wednesday nights so that is bonding night for trae and dad. i also have him all day friday because we work four 10's as of right now. in a few months we will go to four 9's and then work til 10 on friday incase it snows. with all the bonding time we get alone im pretty sure trae's first words with be, da da, and jets. Hopefully everyone else is enjoying the fall weather and not looking forward to what is on its way. Take Care and have a Great Weekend.

More couch time, must be watching Tiger Woods

THANKS FOR MAKING ME SMILE!

Smith's and Morey's welcome to the Blog.

It made my day when I looked at the blog this morning and saw the new pictures.

Robbie and Landon, I hope you both have a great and safe football season.

Landon, we already have our tickets for the NDSU vs UofM game and also the NDSU homecoming game so we will get to see you play. Someone in your family will have to give us their plans for both of these games.

John and I are headed up to the cabin for a quick inspection. We are told we should be able to move back in by the end of the month. This is good as the small cabin does not have heat and the temperature is suppose to be in the 30's tonight.

After what we have been through to build a loft so Dale won't have to sleep in the car, I think we need to pick a week for a reunion next summer. Look at your schedules.

I'm finally a blogger

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but i finally figured this thing out.

We've enjoyed reading everyones posts and i will try to keep you up on all our news. This is the second one i wrote tonight. the first one i got done with and added some pictures and then it disappeared into cyber heaven.

We have been busy chasing Robbie around for football and the grand kids on the weekends. Robbie started the first game at safety on defense and at receiver on offense and we thought he did real well. But after the first game the starting tailback got hurt so they then moved Robbie to tailback and he's been starting both ways every since. He also returns punts and kickoffs so his mother isn't too happy about football. Brian, Mike and myself went to Valley City to see him play a couple of weeks ago and lindsey was in fargo shopping with her mom so Audrey got to babysit Cadence for the day instead of watching Robbie get beat up. She says she wants baketball to start soon.

We celebrated Matthews 1st birthday a couple of weeks ago and had a good time. he's been walking for a coule of months now and getting into all types of trouble. Cadence can crawl but i think she is jealous of her cousin so i think she will be walking soon too.

Laura i just saw your pictures and i think boys would rather wear their cakes then eat them. Tell Landon good luck. We went camping last saturday night but we taped his game and then watched it sunday when we got home. I thought he did real well.

Patti the cabin looks like it's coming along. We are looking foward to the time when we can all get together up there again. Everyone take care.

Hello Again

It is Kaden's birthday tomorrow -- hard to believe he is already a year! We had a party for him a couple weeks ago at the Comfort Inn when Lisa and her kids were home! They all had a blast!

He loves the water!
Here is the whole gang -- Kaden is a little unsure about what to think with these crazy people!

We think that Lisa had the most fun:)

He was more interested in the frosting than the candle!

Now we get to the good stuff!!!! Look at that grin:)

As you can see, he is showing us the mess he has made. His favorite word is OOOHHHH! And that is what he is saying about the mess!

Not so happy about having to stop and get cleaned up -- Mom and Dad weren't too happy about the clean up either!

Last weekend, Brian, Kaden , Mom, Dad, Lee, Shantelle, and I all ventured to Fargo for Landon's first game. He got in on quite a few plays. He is on almost all of the special teams -- whatever the heck that means! Kaden was in awe! Everything he would see was OOOHH, OOOHHH, OOHHH, OOOHHH! WE had a great time and enjoyed spending time with Landon. Lee had a hard time cheering for the Bison but managed to suck it up!

Off again this weekend for game 2 --- GO BISON!! (I know Lee -- but get over it!)

Well, I will try my best to keep you updated on the Smith's -- can't make any promises, but will do my best. Hope all is well with everyone! Take care!

I finally figured it out.

It took me a little longer than most of you but i think i got it. We have enjoyed reading the blog and seeing all the pictures. We have been busy chasing Robbie around the area for football games and going back and forth to bismarck to see the grand kids. We celebrated Matthews first birthday in the end of august and had a great time. Hes been walking for a couple of months now so he gets into all kinds of trouble.

Cadence is crawling but you can tell she wants to be like her cousin so i dont think it will be long before she is walking. Brian, Mike and myself went to Valley City for one of robbies football games and since Lindsey was in fargo shopping with her mother that weekend Audrey got to babysit Cadence for a whole day. I dont think she even minded missing the game for that.

Robbie has been doing very well in ball. He started out the year as the starting safety on defense and rotating in as a receiver on offense. During the first game the starting tailback got hurt so they decided to try robbie there so now he starts both ways. His mother just wants the year to be over.

Patti the cabin looks like it is turning out great. Hopefully we can all get together there soon.

Im going to try to add some of the latest pictures of the kids just to see if i know what im doing.

The Silent Ones

The Smiths and the Moreys are pretty quiet on this blog. Anybody able to harass them into participating? Or into submitting their birthdays and anniversaries for our list?

Playing catch up

We haven't written in here for awhile, though not alot has happened in our lives I have some pictures to share.

Arron joined football again this year. He practiced twice a day until school started, now practicing after school everyday. He suits up whenever there is sophomore, JV, and Varsity games, making his schedule quite hectic.

Arron's #10
The week before school started he took his driver's license test and passed. Yes, the first time he took his car to football I had to take pictures and I also was a little choked up over the whole deal. It's nice not having to drive him places, but I do miss the time we would get while in the car. My baby's growing up.

Arron in his purple "hotrod". If you have any cassette tapes, I'm sure he would love to borrow them.

This past weekend, I made another quick trip to St. Paul, leaving on Friday late afternoon and arriving home Sunday evening. I was asked to be the Godmother for my friend's baby boy. We had a good time, doing a little shopping and alot of eating on Saturday. Then attending Mass and having Isaac's Baptism on Sunday.

Baby Isaac and Me

Me, Nikki, and Isaac's mother, Amy (Class of '91 rocks!!)
While I was away, the boys went hunting. It was opening grouse hunting weekend, Jerrett and Arron met Roger in Marshall. Though it was raining, seven men toughed it out, and shot a total of ten grouse. I'm told that's pretty good considering the crappy weather.

Well, that's all for us. Hope everybody is doing well. Hope to here from all of you soon.

OOP's forgot another!!

Well, I got a call from aunt Lucille today and she was wondering if I knew what September 1st was.Of course by this time I knew I should , but I didn't. It was aunt Mary Remacles 95th birthday. She said Mary had commented last week that she was surprised she hadn't heard from North Dakota, and today when Lucille was over there she asked if she had heard from any of us and Mary just said - no but there mom is gone. How true. I did know her birthday was in September and thought the other day I should look it up, and didn't. If anyone wants to send a card her address is 303 E SD Hiway 34, Howard, SD 57349. Lucille said Mary is doing good except for her hearing. At the party on Sunday she had a pad of paper so people could write. She says even when she goes over to visit lately she has to write more than ever before.

Also Lucille said - Tommy Remacle had a couple strokes, apparently he is doing better. They got him to Souix Falls and they figured he had had about 4 strokes. He was in the hospital a week or more and they took his cigarettes away right away and he can not drive. Lucille was not sure exactly when this happened, but he was at Bob & Christies for the birthday party and she said he seemed okay. I guess he goes to therapy for speech & apparently his arm. She said Bob was driving to Pick City & driving him to therapy. He goes to Souix Falls September 24th for follow-up appointment.

I asked how Bob & Karen were doing. She said it was Bob Johnston's 60th birthday on September 2nd. She said they are struggling, but getting along. Last week the golf course had a scramble to raise money for Laurie & Taylor and apparently ran a morning & afternoon tournament and filled both. Don & Joyce and I think she said Rich was there too.

Cabin Trip: Labor Day Weekend

We had a very good weekend at the lake. We spent the weekend removing dead trees and cleaning up the scraps of construction materials lying around, while denying summer's end. The good news is we were all very happy with the latest construction progress. Hmmm, just maybe we'll meet the May 1st deadline my mom had in mind... She never did specify if that was May 1st 2007 or 2008! But if the workers continue to show up, the end is in sight!

On the side news, my mom spotted a mom bear and 4 cubs nearby. We have also been told that a mom bear and 3 cubs have been spotted next door to our cabin! And Todd, according to John the bear with the hooded sweatshirt is responsible for placing my bag of clothes on the neighbors swim raft... so you'll be happy to know he is alive and well.

Happy belated wedding anniversary Jerrett and Cheryl from the Dutkes!

The basement is a mess. But the extra window made a huge difference.

One last summer sunset

(and now you know why my mom claimed the balcony as hers:)
