Smith Family Vacation

Hello everyone,
I have been meaning to get these pictures from our vacation on the blog for some time and am finally getting to it -- better late than never:) Our family took a vacation the first weekend in June to South Dakota. We rented a cabin on the edge of Rapid City and took in some sites. Dad, Mom, Brian, the boys, and I arrived on Thursday afternoon. Lisa and her family joined us Thursday evening. Lee, Shantelle, and Landon rolled in Friday morning. We had a great time, although the weather was not so great. Just thought I would share a few pictures!

Here we all are at Mt. Rushmore! What a bunch:)

I got these next three pictures out of order -- oh well!

All Kaden wanted to do was to go fishing. So, after we checked into the cabin, we headed down to the lake so he could throw his pole in. He thought it was great! (He did not catch any fish, but told anyone who asked him that he caught 2 -- he definately has tall tale fishing down!! However, he does not have patience to keep it in very long or to take help from anyone else. Needless to say, I think the fishing was a test to Grandpa's patience and learning to deal with a 2 year old!!??

Kaden with his tacklebox.

Off to the lake!!

Kyle reading to Emily at the cabin.

Kyle and Kaden enjoying some breakfast before we go see some sites!

Landon feeding the geese down by the lake.

Kaden and Kyle riding the train at Storybook Land.

Regan, Payton, Braxton, Landon, Lee, and Shantelle all suited up for a good game of paintball:)

Here we are playing a game of minature golf under black lights.

Little Emily -- what a doll!

On Sunday before we all went our separate ways, we ventured to Chuckie Cheese. Here are Payton and Kyle playing some games.

Jordan and Emily chillin' with Chuckie!

And here is Kaden totally worn out from vacation -- he was out before we even got on the interstate and him and Jordan slept the whole way home:)

We hope everyone is doing well. Looking forward to seeing everyone in August -- it will be here before we know it!

All our love, Laura

8 Weeks Old

Hi Everyone...

Just wanted to post some new pictures of Kynnedi. She continues to grow like and weed and can not wait to meet and be held by all of you. She is doing great. We are very lucky to have a good little sleeper on our hands. She has slept completely through a couple of nights otherwise she wakes up to eat around 4 and goes back to sleep for a couple of hours. Just over the last two weeks or so she has started to smile which is so adorable.

Some of you might have already heard but we are about to embark on an exciting adventure. We bought a piece of land out close to mom's and decided to put our house up for sale thinking it would take awhile for it to sell...turns out we accepted an offer within 2 weeks...as long as everything continues to go well we will close on July 17th. We have started the early stages of designing a house to be built on the land (Scott will be the builder)...lots of changes but all very exciting. Now the stress begins. :)

We hope everyone is having a great summer so far. This is the first really hot week we have hand...kind of crazy. We miss you all and can't wait to see everyone soon.

Aunt Kathy...if you could bring the pack and play for us to use in Fargo that would be a huge help! Thanks so much!

Lots of love,
Kelli

The Wedding's Coming Up!

Jake - Thank you for the pictures of Davis - Cassie & Nick he is a real cutie. I had been intending to put some information out here about the rooms so thought I would do it now. I am sure I will have more info later too. There is a block of rooms at the Howard Johnson Inn in Fargo phone # 701-232-8850. This is the hotel that the Side Street - the bar & grill that Traci and Tori work at is located. Also it is across the street from the Civic Center - which is where the dance will be held. I think the rooms are around $80- 85. I also want everyone to know we have reserved a conference room that opens onto the courtyard at the hotel for Friday night so we can all get together. Traci & Tori are having their rehearsal on Thursday evening so that should help so we can have a little more time to see everyone - especially all the new babies. They will have a Taco bar for us and I think we can bring in our own beer, etc (I will confirm that). So, anyone who is coming Friday just ask at the hotel and they will direct you to the room. Also Lee, Chantel, and Landon I hope you can come over. As for Sunday morning. The hotel has a great continental breakfast that is available from 7:00 to 10:00 and so I figured those that are leaving Sunday we may be able to get together there. If anyone is wondering about anything - just call or e-mail. Kelli - I also wanted you to know that I have a pack & play at my house if you want we could bring that so you have one less thing to bring on the plane.
Well it seems like it is getting closer all the time. Hope to see as many as possible there.

Now on another subject - I don't know who all had heard we sold our house - but just to let you know the sale failed. The guy was kind of an idiot. Luckily it failed before we ended up owning 2 houses. Also there was some interest in the bar/liquor store, but that didn't go any further so for now we will just stay put and enjoy the summer. Which reminds me - Patti & Frank we do have room if you need one for your reunion. Looking forward to seeing you.

Love Kathy

Late Memorial Weekend Post

Hi Everyone,
Sorry we are a bit delayed in wishing everyone a Happy Memorial Weekend. We hope everyone had a great time and was able to get out and enjoy the start of summer. We took Kynnedi on her first camping trip. We all headed to Blue Mesa for a fishing weekend. The weather wasn't wonderful but the guys had marathon fishing outtings anyways...I am sure the amount of beer consumed help them forget about the rain, wind, etc. Mom and I spent lots of time hanging out at the 5th wheel and when the weather would break we would venture out with Kynnedi for a walk in her stroller. Overall it was a great weekend. We all had a good time...except the night that Kynnedi was up with gas and Scott got to know the joys of having a baby around. :)

Kynnedi is growing like a weed and seems to change from day to day...so crazy. I have been enjoying my time off and am amazed at how quickly the days fly by and how little I seem to accomplish. We try and see Grandma every couple of days if not everyday so she can get her fix.

We can't wait to see you all in August. We promise to keep posting and everyone else should do the same. I absolutely love the post of Davis talking...so cute! It is about time for new posts with pictures from everyone else.

Lots of love,
Kelli
